The name of Cartier is synonymous with expert and innovative watchmaking since the Maison first started producing time pieces back in 1853. However, it was in 1904 when Louis Cartier presented Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont with the first men's wristwatch on a leather strap that inspired the launch of the hugely successful Santos wristwatch in 1911.
