What kind of guarantee do I get with my watch?
All new watches bought from us come with a full international manufacturer's warranty. Some brands such as Omega offer a 3, 4, or 5-year warranty on some of their models. This will be written in the product description if this is the case. The warranty starts usually on the day we dispatch the watch to you for delivery.
Why have you quoted 6-8 weeks for a simple battery and reseal? They can do it while I wait on the high-street!
We pride ourselves on maintaining your luxury items for longer than their intended lifespan.
At Beards, we do the following to ensure your timepiece leaves us in the best state possible.
- Step 1 - Check-in and diagnosis of faults
We take every step to responsibly look after your watch. Our initial administration steps involve inspecting and documenting the condition of the watch so that it is returned to you safely with a full paper trail. Once booked in, it is passed through our workshops.
Hopefully at this stage, the only issue is an expired battery. However, a leaking or damaged battery could cause damage to the interior of the watch itself. We perform all necessary diagnostic checks at this stage.
- Step 2 - Battery & seal replacement
While we try to keep a stock of relevant parts, we are often required to order specific seals or batteries. Some manufacturers parts or reseal kits can take as long as two weeks to reach us from U.K. suppliers or Switzerland.
Our watch technicians take great care and time to replace any required parts using authentic brand approved tools.
- Step 3 - Testing
Your watch is then put through two tests–timing and water resistance. Completed repairs are placed on a large winder and monitored for a full week to ensure that the watch maintains perfect timekeeping within brand tolerances. Each watch is then subjected to a rigorous pressure test to ensure it is water resistant to the correct depth rating.
While the high-street option may seem quicker initially, an incorrect seal or battery could lead to more serious problems for the watch itself and end up costing far more to repair.
Help! I've forgotten how to set my watch!

No, the chargable amount is the RRP when we receive delivery of the item on special order, this will be advised by the agent assisting your special order. Price increases can be issued by our stocked brands at short notice.
Are you authorised to sell all of your watch brands?
Yes, we are authorised retailers for each of the brands we display. This means every item we sell is 100% brand new and will come with a branded box (and paperwork where applicable e.g. for watches), as well as a full manufacturer's warranty. Every product is supplied to us directly from the manufacturer and we do not purchase any products in any other way.
Is a watch winder necessary for an automatic watch?
No, watch winders are not necessary for an automatic watch. A winder will help keep your watch on time over extended periods on not being worn.
How do I clean my watch?
We recommend using a dry soft bristled toothbrush (the softer the better) to remove any loose debris or buildup on a regular basis.
Should your watch be dirty enough that this does not work, please contact us directly for cleaning advice based on the model of watch.
What brands of watches do you service?
For a full list of the brands that we can service, in-house or out-of-house, please consult our servicing page here.
I have a watch being serviced with you, is it fully insured whilst with you?
Yes, while your watch is on our premises, it is fully insured for your peace of mind.
I want to buy a watch as an investment, can you help me with this?
We never recommend purchasing watches as an investment. Instead, we emphasise that a watch should be purchased on personal preferences, utility function and admiration for craftsmanship.

I don't know what size ring I need. How can I find out?
We have an easy to understand ring size guide that can be found here - Ring Sizing Guide
How do I get my partner's ring size without them knowing?
Start by asking your significant other’s friends and family. If they wear rings frequently, try to take one without them noticing to us and have us check the size. Be sure to note which finger and hand they wear it on! Each of our fingers are different sizes and they can even vary from right to left hand.
If you still are out of luck, we can try to guess based on their height and shirt size (S,M,L).
I just got my ring but it doesn't fit, what do I do?
We offer a complimentary resizing on our Beards branded jewellery, let the team know and we will take care of it for you. If the item is from one of our suppliers, we can exchange the unworn ring for another size.
Do you buy old jewellery? If not, what can I do with it?
We do not offer to purchase used jewellery. We do offer a jewellery refresh service, we can update and redesign any precious metal ring to any new design. Your imagination is the only limit.
What are the 4 C's?
The 4 C’s stand for Carat, Clarity, Color and Cut.
Carat is used to measure the weight of diamonds and gemstones.
Clarity refers to how clear a diamond is and is based on how many inclusions are inside the diamond. Inclusions can include minute crystals, growth patterns, tiny enclosed fractures, etc. Clarity is measured on a scale from IF (internally flawless) to I2 (included 2). The clearer a diamond is the rarer and thus, the higher the price.
Color refers to the color of a diamond. Diamonds tend to have a yellowish or brownish tint. The scale starts at D (colorless) and goes all the way down to Z (noticeable color). Most diamonds we see in the market are in the D-I range.
Cut refers to the cut of a diamond and is the most overlooked but possibly the most important! Cut is the only contribution by man, while all others are naturally occurring. Cut can really make or break the appearance of the stone. If a diamond has excellent proportions, symmetry and angles it is going to have optimal light return and be very sparkly. If a diamond has poor angles, poor symmetry and poor polish, it will appear dull and dark.

At Beards, our preference is for colourless and very very/ very slightly included stones.
Where do you source your diamonds?
We strictly retail only responsibly sourced stones. Our suppliers adhere closely to conflict-free sourcing guidelines such as The Kimberley Process. Please rest assured that our stones are ethical and responsible.
What is a synthetic/lab-grown diamond?
A synthetic diamond or gemstone has essentially the same chemical composition, crystal structure, optical and physical properties of its natural counterpart. The main difference is that one is grown in a lab in a matter of months or years, and the latter is formed deep inside the earth over the course of millions of years.
